Free Fire Screensaver – The Free Version of Fantastic Flame Screensaver
Review by on
A short while ago we took a look at the Laconic Software-developed application Fantastic Flame Screensaver, an application that can lit your screen on fire. When the Fantastic Flame Screensaver becomes active, it sets everything on fire. By default the application uses a snapshot of your desktop, meaning that it will seem like your desktop just caught on fire.

Free Fire Screensaver does the same thing – it uses a snapshot of your desktop to make it seem like it caught on fire. The thing is that Fantastic Flame Screensaver allowed you to use more backgrounds, not just a desktop snapshot. You could choose something like a burning dragon, or a burning "keep out" sign, or a burning zodiac sign.

From my Fantastic Flame Screensaver experience I can tell that Free Fire Screensaver uses the “Hot Fire” flame style. I can tell because that’s the flame style Fantastic Flame Screensaver uses the same flame style by default. The difference between Free Fire Screensaver and Fantastic Flame Screensaver is that the later lets you choose various other flame styles – Free Fire Screensaver doesn’t have any other flame style to offer.

From an acoustic point of view, Fantastic Flame Screensaver and Free Fire Screensaver are very similar. Both applications can play chimes, the built-in soundtrack, or the music track the user specifies.

Fantastic Flame Screensaver also let you choose what sound the flame will make. Free Fire Screensaver comes with only two options: play the sound, or don’t play the sound. You do not have various sounds at your disposal. From what I can tell, the flame sound that Free Fire Screensaver plays is the “Dry Wood” option in Fantastic Flame Screensaver.

Before you go get Free Fire Screensaver and put it to the test take a look at these technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at some 4.8MB, which isn’t very much. The download should complete in very little time.
Installation – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Free Fire Screensaver provides support for the following Windows versions: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Installing the application is a simple process that goes along smoothly and rapidly.
Limitations – there are no limitations; you can use Free Fire Screensaver free of charge for as long as you want
